1922 Depositions, Interviews, and Statements: Texts from Box 5 of The Paper Documents Collection of Mr. George Wilson

This section of the Hall Mills Murder Collection contains the depositions, interviews and statements of people who were witnesses or somehow related to the case. As is the norm with a police investigation into a crime, those with a relationship to the crime or who might have relevant information are interviewed by the police investigator and/or the prosecutor.

Depositions are not part of a formal court hearing but are sworn statements collected by both the prosecution and/or the defense during the discovery or research part of a crime investigation phase of a case. The information gleaned during the deposition or interview may become part of the actual court case later.

The material presented here are those that were part of the 1922 investigation, not the 1926 case. In order to comply with the law, the 1926 materials will not be posted until 2026.
