Summer Reading 2022: Oceans of Possibilities

The New Brunswick Free Public Library’s 2022 summer reading program will run from June 18 through August 13. All ages, from 0 to 100+, are invited to participate!

Come to the library* during our open hours to sign up yourself and/or your children for our "Oceans of Possibilities" summer reading challenges. (*Children and teenagers will need to register at the library; adults will be using the online reading program at and/or our Adult Summer Reading Bingo card.)

  • The parents of children ages 0-4 will be given a game board with 20 activities to complete by August 13. Return the completed game board by August 13 and receive a prize!
  • K-6 children will receive a game board with 24 activities. They have a choice to either complete the 24 activities OR keep a reading log showing what they read for 24 days. They can then return the completed game board or reading log to the library by August 13 to receive a prize!
  • Teens (grades 7-12) will be provided with a reading log, on which they are to keep track of the number of minutes they read each day throughout the Summer (until August 13). Reading anything counts -- from blog posts to comic books, magazine articles to novels, etc. Teens will need to bring their log and report their reading at the library: Every 300 minutes read earns a level and a prize!
  • Visit our Adult Summer Reading Page for more details for anyone of or over the age of 18.

We will have many, various events throughout the summer as well; view our Summer brochure here (or download a printable copy here) and/or visit our Events Page for more details. As usual, please feel free to call the library at 732-745-5108 with any questions.
